During the Six Nations Championship to decide the overall winner, there are several other trophies that are contested within the main competition.

Grand Slam
All nations
The Grand Slam is awarded only when one nation defeats all the other five.

Scotland – England – Ireland – Wales
Awarded only to the Home Nation that defeats the other three in a single Six Nations Championship campaign. This trophy is not always claimed.

Calcutta Cup
Scotland – England
The Auld Enemies have contested this trophy annually since 1879. Will be played for on SatĀ 8 March, 2008, at Murrayfield.

Millennium Trophy
England – Ireland
This trophy was presented to Ireland from England to celebrate Dublin’s millennium in 1988. Will be played for on Sat 15 March, 2008, at Twickenham.

Centenary Quaich
Scotland – Ireland
The quaich (a Celtic drinking vessel) is contested between the two Celtic nations, Scotland and Ireland, and was first played for in 1989. Will be played for on Sat 23 February, 2008, at Croke Park.

Giuseppe Garibaldi Trophy
France – Italy
Contested in memory of Giuseppe Garibaldi, this was first awarded in 2007. Contested whenever France play Italy. Will be played for on SunĀ 9 March, 2008, at Stade de France.
